Food and drink have always played a significant role in regional development. Now we're seeing a rapid growth of distilleries using local grain to produce world-class whiskies.
Corowa Whisky and Chocolate has recently been named in the world's Top 10 up-and-coming distilleries. Beau Schilg, Master Distiller, produces up to 600 litres a week and his goal is to supply Aussie markets as well as export to Asia and USA.
They're also operating a fantastic eating house too along with producing their own chocolates - you can even make a giant freckle. Based in the in the renovated Corowa Flour Mills building, the business is fast becoming a tourist 'must-visit' stopping point.
